Welcome to Fier,
Fier represents a path between the glorious past and the promising future of Albania.
Its lands were already inhabited by the Illyrians in the Antiquity. The splendid Antic ruins of Apollonia testify the importance of the city.
Build a few centuries later, ancient Monasteries still stand majestically with their long history engraved in their walls. Noticeably enough, the greatest Albanian hero Gjergj Kastrioti (6 May 1405 – 17 January 1468), known as Skanderbeg was married in Ardenica Monastery near Fier.
In less than 16km away you can reach the beautiful Adriatic coast!
But even within Fier, the brand new city centre is an excellent place to spend time in a terrace for the traditional « kafe » which is to be enjoyed all day long!
